IMAGINE is the next song off the acoustic side of Jobo Blossoms. The A side is about sharing from the purest way I know how. No layers or loops and just one microphone and the guitar that has accompanied me for a good while. I can Imagine a time when yards, parks and green spaces are filled with fruit trees and hummingbirds. When rivers run clean and flow free, we value the rivers life as we value or own. This song was inspired after a trip to Los Angeles, California. The river system there has been concrete for I believe about a 100 years or so. The riparian buffers are very non existent and the pollution levels that enter into the ocean are a public health hazard then healthy estuaries which are home to diverse flora and fauna and high quality water. Before this concrete it’s said green corridors ran throughout the river in the area that is now called Los Angeles, the people ebb and flowed with the seasonal rains, water seeped into the ground and emerged in natural springs. The natural filtration kept water clean and clear. Costa Rica yesterday celebrated its independence, a country without military and abundance of free flowing rivers and immense biodiversity. I hope the cities of the future can draw inspiration and imagine a life living with respect for the river and flora and fauna that could be.
